With its rich heritage and grand architecture, it’s little wonder that past students would find it fitting to have a pre wedding shoot in such historical surroundings. We arranged to meet Edwin and Dorothy at the entrance to Kings College in Cambridge. What we love about Chinese couples is the sheer enthusiasm they bring to a shoot. As they had already done a pre wedding session in Hong Kong, they were wonderfully comfortable in front of the camera. Dorothy was dressed in a floaty “prima ballerina” wedding dress dress fashioned out of tulle while Edwin was looking rather dapper in his sharp suit.

Moving through the streets with bride and groom in tow is always going to generate attention from well wishers and passersby. This attention seemed to phase neither Edwin nor Dorothy who took everything well within their stride and seemed genuinely delighted with the friendly responses. Walking through the cobbled streets you’re never far away from quintessential Cambridge architecture, from the exposed face-brick to columns supporting the roofs over the various learning facilities. Cambridge certainly allows itself to be captured in the best possible light.

It must be noted though that Cambridge is first and foremost a learning facility, and as such a sense of restraint must be applied when wandering around the campus grounds. To avoid the scorn of the on site security guards, it is recommended to get permission first before undertaking any on location shots. We were however truly blessed with an abundance of accessible locations albeit with a bit of friendly negotiation.
