Mormon wedding ceremony’s are held in temples where no photography is permitted and so the format of this wedding may seem a little unusual. Kabryn and David had flown up to Jo’berg the day before for the religious part of their wedding celebration and had therefore already seen each other in their wedding outfits. It seemed fitting then that the entire wedding party should prepare for the reception together at one of the most amazing houses I have ever been to. Based inside the Kirklington Estate in Hillcrest (about an half an hour inland from Durban itself) Kabryn’s uncle has built the house of dreams. He asked each member of the family (kids included) to write down ideas for the project. Some executed fantasy’s include an infinity pool, swing bridge, super tube slide and a fireman’s pole! Some of which where used the morning of the wedding – just for fun.

The entire family and bridal party headed down to the Durban Botanical Gardens for family photographs and some time together before the wedding reception. The gardens are a traditional choice for many people who get married in Durban. The gardens are really beautiful and made for a colourful backdrop to the shots.

I just love Kabryn’s choice of a small vintage birdcage style veil with flower broach in her side swept hair style, although I am sure she could have pulled off any look without a problem. The lace detail in the bodice of the dress also tied in nicely with the hint of vintage. Her two boys looked super smart in their flat caps and braces. As for the groom, well he scrubs up pretty well too. David said something that really stuck with me during his speech at the reception – He spoke of his instant family: Kabryn & her two little boys. So, congratulations on your marriage and fully fledged family!
